1. I was shocked on how poorly the widows were treated. I can't believe people would disown or shun someone just because their husband died. 2. If my mother was a widow I would not disown her but I would disown all the people that think that she is bad luck. 3. I think that women should not be treated like this even though it is a religious practice because it is very rude and disrespectful toward the women. 4. I think that the person who is practicing the religion is the one to say if a practice is right and that they should be able to decide if they want to follow it or not. 5. I think it is important to understand religious beliefs because it is good to know why you believe such things and why they are a good or bad thing to follow. 6. If someone wanted to make a change on how people can treat the widows differently they could show everyone that a woman is no different if she can't take care of herself if her husband is gone. People can encourage others to help out these woman on getting back on their feet and helping them to be able to take care of themselves for the rest of their lives. Since i was absent on Friday I was told to write about how I think it would be to be a Scribe.
If i were a scribe i think it would be a hard job. It seems hard to memorize all the characters and what they mean. By the time they simplified the writing system I would think it wouldn't be hard anymore. In my Social Studies class we have been assigned projects. My project is for Economy. I have to make two transportation models that were used by the Mesopotamians. I will try to post updates on my project so that everyone can see the process.
Since I arrived here at Canyon Lake Middle School I have learned many things in Mrs. Mondragon's Social Studies Class. The first thing we learned about was "What Is Social Studies?" We talked and studied the 8 disciplines of Social Studies. Then we talked about the Early Hominids and what they did. We also studied the Paleolithic and Neolithic Times. Now we are learning about how the Sumerian City-States.
